Lotus
bouquets represent summer and appear on both the body and border
of this robe, as does the golden wanshou medallion, a symbol
of longevity. Originally, the sleeves of this robe were wider
and worn deeply folded, but collector Charlotte Hill Grant had
them narrowed and unfolded.
